One Killed, Three Others Injured In Northern Maryland Head-On Crash

Westminster, Md. – Preliminary investigation indicates that on December 26, 2018, at 7:00 a.m. a Nissan Sentra, driven by Jesse Wiseman, was traveling north on Littlestown Pike. A black Ford Escape, an Acura ILX, and a red Ford Escape were traveling south on Littlestown Pike. For unknown reasons, the Nissan Sentra traveled in the southbound lane and struck the black Ford Escape, according to police. The Nissan continued on and struck the Acura which was traveling southbound behind the black Ford Escape. The Nissan continued on and struck red Ford Escape which was also traveling southbound.

Wiseman, the driver of the Nissan, was pronounced dead at the scene. The drivers of the black Ford Escape and the Acura were transported to Carroll Hospital Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the red Ford Escape was flown from the scene to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center for treatment of injuries and is currently undergoing treatment.

There were no obvious signs of impairment, however, the collision remains under investigation. Citizens are asked to contact MSP Westminster if they witnessed the collision.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by Pleasant Valley Fire Department, Westminster Fire Department, Maryland Department of Transportation – State Highway Administration, MSP Aviation, and MSP CRASH Team.

The roadway was closed for approximately five hours. Since then the roadway is now open.
